This is the apex of the disaster that’s happening in Romania, an Eastern European country (former Eastern block) that after 20 years since getting rid of the communist rule of former dictator Nicolae Ceusescu, is suffocating under tonnes of corruption, negligence and theft conducted by the neo-communist leaders that followed beginning with Ion Iliescu and ending with the current president Traian Basescu.

Romania is currently allocating the smallest percentage of all of Europe of its GDP for medical care. In Romania smoke detectors are a curiosity in hospitals that do not even carry painkillers on regular medicine stocks! It is the year 2010 and Romania is stuck in a dark past due to a handfulll of scrupleless politicians to include the president and his rapacious right-hand ministers Elena Udrea, Blaga, Berceanu and the whole leadership of the ruling party PDL.

The level of negligence regarding the use of the public funds, the outright theft that is happeening in Romania was never seriously sanctioned by the US Government which is all too happy to have the full support and free hand of the corrupt Romanian autorities at developing the US military facilities at Navodari to include parts of the Defense Shield.

Mrs Clinton visited Romania recently but said nothing about the corruption thats taking place over here, shook hands with the Romanian authorities and smiled elegantly just to make sure everything is all right with the US interests.
Romania spends tens of millions of dollars on participating with troops in Afghanistan just to apease the US and have the “small internal problems” overlooked. This is why this time 4 innocent babies had to pay with their lives for politics and greed…

Romania is also currently facing the most serious shortage of qualified medical personnel to include specialist medical doctors, medical nurses and auxiliaries due to a surge in migration of these people to the UK, Belgium and elsewhere in Western Europe where they are needed and paid many times over what they make in Romania.
A specialist medical doctor with over 30 years of experience used to make around $300 on a good month. Now the Romanian government, invoking the global depression, cut their pay with more than 25% hence the exodus of these people.
What is even more outrageous is what the president of Romania, Traian Basescu recently said regarding the drainage of medical personnel from Romania: “Let them go! This way we won’t have to pay them salaries and pensions”. That is the president of Romania that said this folks!
Americans should put pressure on this corrupt government through the many organisations that activate in Romania to stop this theft and rampage. People such as Leslie Hawke, the mother of Ethan Hawke which has been living in Romania for over 10 years and is conducting aid work with children over here should be the harbingers of such actions against this bunch of nasty politicians.
These politicians need to go!
